Our 3rd grade experienced the strangest couple of weeks! Our teacher, Christina, was absent for almost 2 weeks, and that was the first time we’d ever been away from her for so long this year. It turns out that she had hurt her back, and had to miss a lot of school to recover. We missed her like crazy, but we had a nice substitute teacher named Heidi. Heidi made a list of the well behaved and poorly behaved kids and this let us see how we were doing all week long. The students with good behavior got rewarded with class money for their class bank accounts. This was a good idea because the students were judged as individuals and how they acted. Christina came back to our classroom on March 10th, last Thursday. She seems to be getting better and she was happy when we greeted her. On Thursday in class she read through the behavior chart and fortunately no kids’ names were on the poor behavior list.
On Friday we met with Brandon from MOG and started to make songs for the play. We were actually writing the words to the songs, and rhyming them. I enjoyed making the beginning of one of the songs. I’m pretty sure a lot of other people did too, because we had to make rhyming words in almost every sentence which is really fun. Luckily we didn’t have to rhyme as much as Dr. Seuss, though! Frog, bog, and log all rhyme with MOG, but I think we should stay on topic.
We’re so happy that Christina has returned to Room 306, aka. 3rd grade!
