In Christina's class this December, we went over 4th grade Math skills like multiplying two digit numbers and three digit numbers. We were taught several different strategies such as those using the distributive property and the traditional strategy. Coming back to 5th grade Math, we learned how to multiply decimals by a whole number that isn't 10, 100, or 1000. We also learned how to add and subtract decimals by first aligning the decimal points. It was fun to play a few Math games to improve our multiplication, decimal, and rounding skills.
Math wasn't just work, work, WORK! We all had the holiday spirit on! Including Christina!!!! She spared us from a Math packet for a whole week. Now that's a great teacher. Also, on the last day of school for 2016, we had a free day! We snacked on chips and cupcakes and played an enjoyable game with Christmas related questions. It was a great month in Math class. Happy Christmas and Merry New Year! Or is it the other way around???
