NATURE'S CLASSROOM

Picture
A hop, skip, some traffic, and a few "Are we there yets"  later we arrived in one piece to Charlton, Massachusetts, our home at Nature's Classroom. After a filling lunch, kids were off on their first field group adventure and have been busy ever since. I am pleased to report all kids are very happy and  laughing! (I wouldn't have it any other way).

DAY 2

Liam decided to give the entire East Hall a wake up call at a whopping 5:45AM. I heard his feet pitter-pattering down the hallway. He and other couldn't wait to get started on the adventure! The energy all the kids have in the morning is AMAZING. As much as I attempted to get them back to sleep, it wasn't happening. "ALRIGHT I'M UP!"

A FEW MESSAGES FOR YOU FROM US! ENJOY

NATURE WALK

All the kids dispersed into their field group, and went for a lovely hike in the woods. Yes, that is Priya eating a dandelion. Andrew, Matthew, and Ruslana holding a salamanders. My group even spotted a SNAKE! Smiles and laughter all around!

CLASSES

While at Nature's Classroom, the children take many classes. Today some of them included dissecting rats and sharks, building water rockets, shelters, and boats that float, exploring edible plants, and learning about deer survival. Kids come running back from each class thrilled to share what they learned!

THE LAKE

I took the fourth grade down to the lake. They were so excited. I couldn't help but allow them to jump right in. It's more fun to play in it than look at...That's for sure!

DAY 3

A day of Predator vs Prey, a later wake up call, a hike in the woods, a mean kickball game, pig and mink dissection, goop, parachuting, ice-cream, animal adaptations, talent show, & many tables with no ORT!!!! Still happy and smiling.
Fourth graders conquered Nature's Classroom. I am filled with nothing but pride. For being the youngest, (and possibly away from home for the first time), the kids were nothing short of Rock Stars. They were well behaved, great listeners, active learners, curious, patient, and most of all wonderful friends.  Well it's time for me to get them showered, hear about their favorite part of the day, and get them to bed! They are coming home with many stories. See you tomorrow!
